Fundación Frech was founded on July 1996. It was created to address the educational needs of the Salvadoran community, especially those of young people from low-income families.

The foundation was established as a private non-profit entity to promote the importance of social service. It aims to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of disadvantaged youth through programs that foster their development and comprehensive formation.

Initially, it benefited employees and families from Grupo Merlet. With time and the introduction of the Business Program ¡Supérate!, the foundation’s outreach grew and it now benefits underprivileged youth studying in public schools in Antiguo Cuscatlán, San Salvador and neighboring municipalities.

At present, it has two educational programs: Centro ¡Supérate! Merlet and “Abriendo Puertas”, a college scholarship program; both programs focused on providing high quality education to young people with a strong desire and will to excel and succeed.
